ESRC Festival of Social Science 1-30 November 2021

The ESRC’s flagship celebration of economics and social science is back and bigger than ever before!

This year’s Festival runs from 1 to 30 November, with a number of events themed around social science and the environment, to reflect the COP26 climate change conference which takes place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow. The Festival will host more than 400 free public events across a range of topical themes. Events are a mixture of online, in-person and hybrid formats, so there really is something for everyone!

The Festival is now in its 19th year and includes a wealth of different types of activities, including panel debates, webinars and interactive events. These events offer an insight into some of the country’s leading social science and economics research and how it influences all our lives, whether at work, in school, when raising children, in businesses and the public sector, as well as across our communities. The events are all being delivered via the ESRC’s 34 higher education partners across the UK.

Since its launch in 2003, thousands of ESRC festival events have been organised and have attracted more than a million people to date. Further details about these past events can be found here: https://esrc.ukri.org/public-engagement/festival-of-social-science/.
