Interior Architecture
Programme Introduction
The Interior Architecture Design Studio 3 module asked students to research, select, prepare and develop an independently driven design project to be further realised in the second term.
Initially, students self-generated & developed an innovative and challenging brief and located a suitable existing building within which to house their design brief. A building appraisal and survey helped to develop their understanding of the existing structure, fabric and features.
With the brief and site in place students then interrogated their potential audience, undertook participatory design research, developed a coherent programme and developed initial concepts to inform an explorative design development process.
In term 2, the focus shifted to design synthesis of prior explorations to implement an individual and focussed process of Design Testing and Realisation; to personally experiment and explore new learning and skills development.
