  • Apart from the name, what are the basic difference between management and global management?

  • What one understands by the word management per say as is been taught by various Business schools – it is a process where an organisation or a firm exerts to work for the vision and mission of the company. Whereas, the word global management may simply used as to take a holistic approach towards understanding the problems of the organisation or a firm.

The word management is usually linked with MBA degree which is a professional and universally accepted degree. In my understanding any MBA programme taught around the world with a culturally diverse group is certainly “global” than alike group. However, I find it more simplistic version of the word. Nevertheless, precisely MBA now a days has become more theoretical and it teaches more technical side of the business where one understands and perceives each and every element of the business from a theoretical perspective instead of its practical implication.

Probably its one of the many reasons in the last few years, the trend shows that the applicants for MBA program has been declining and has become more like a FAD and that is why there has been a increase in popularity for Global Management programme.

Returning back to the term Global management is applied towards the holistic aspect of the management programme i.e. (understanding management at global business environment level) with a good mix of international students, in a culturally diverse environment, with real life business issues etc. in that capacity, the term “Global” is refer to as branding with a lofty ambitions. The appealing thing about global management is helps in application of what one learns immediately while working for any international exposed environment.
