This month is LGBT+ History Month, and to celebrate, we’re hearing from Salford students on what it means to them. In this blog we speak to final year Broadcast Journalism student Lee, who will also be appearing on an Instagram Live at 16:00 today, 19 February 2021, over on the @salforduni account. Join us to hear about his experiences.
Born and bred in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Lee is passionate about the media and strives to land himself a job at the BBC, ITV or Capital FM in the coming months.
International student Wenwen Wang came to Salford to study MA Dance Performance and Professional Practices, after retiring from the national rhythmic gymnastics team of China.
Since her graduation, she has gone on to become a television star after appearing on China’s The Greatest Dancer!
We caught up with her to find out more about her exciting journey.
I learnt to adapt to different dance styles and I have become more open-minded and versatile after working with different amazing artists with their own uniqueness. I also had the amazing opportunity to join the Emergence Dance Company and work with internationally renowned choreographers and performers.
Throughout my time writing for the Made in Salford blog, I have been lucky enough to meet many amazing students with stories and achievements to celebrate – the most recent being Sasha, a Contemporary History and Politics student – and a mother of two children! 👏
Pursuing a degree alongside family life might sound daunting at first – but Sasha is one of the many who has proved that it is completely achievable, and extremely rewarding. 🏆
Sasha was kind enough to share her tips and tricks on how to take on student and mum life combined like a boss, so read on to hear her story. 🌟
