What should you do after University?

Are you reaching the end of your course and thinking what’s next? Let’s face it, jumping straight from uni into a dream career isn’t always straight forward. Perhaps things haven’t gone to plan, you’ve changed your mind during your studies, or you just don’t know what you want to do yet. Firstly, that’s okay. Most people experience this.  

There are lots of services to support you, even after you’ve graduated. To help you figure out your next step and where to go for support, finish the sentence below:

If you’d like to explore job options linked to your undergraduate degree, we have a couple of recommendations for you.

  1. Explore postgraduate study

    A postgraduate degree can help you speed up your career progress and develop deeper knowledge in the area you’re interested in. Join our Pathway to Postgrad events this June to explore postgraduate courses and opportunities.

    Also, as an alumnus, you can get 20% off postgraduate courses.

  2. Look at Graduate jobs and schemes 

    Many companies have jobs designed for recent graduates to support your development in the workplace. Our Careers team have created a handy webpage that lists where to find graduate jobs

  1. Join our Postgraduate events 

    With our postgraduate courses, you can choose to study in a different area to what you’re currently studying. You can explore all courses and your options at our Postgraduate Open Day on Wednesday 24 June. It’s out our big on campus event where you can speak to course leaders, explore new facilities and find out everything you need to know about the application process.

  1. Volunteer

    Volunteering is a great way to find out what you enjoy doing whilst developing your employability skills and helping a community, cause or organisation. Careers have created a dedicated webpage on how you can find volunteering opportunities.
