Sometimes campus doesn’t feel like the right environment to study in after a day of lectures. There are also times when you just want to change things up a bit. Thankfully, there are other study spaces around our campuses to enjoy. Why not switch up your study routine and head to one of these spots this week?
The Old Fire Station
The Old Fire Station is a small cosy café and brewery just across the road from our Maxwell Building, on Peel Park Campus. There’s usually a nice steady noise level that doesn’t interrupt your focus. It tends to be quite quiet in the morning and gets busy around lunchtime, so if you want a calmer atmosphere come before 12:00noon or after 14:00.
Study snacks: if you’re feeling peckish you’re in luck as they serve an array of food including freshly baked goods and sandwiches
Facilities include: Wi-Fi and plug sockets
Treehouse Café
Treehouse Café is located by Kersall Wetlands and is a short walk from our Peel Park Campus. The café is small with a lovely atmosphere to focus in. It’s also pet friendly, so you can bring your pooch along or enjoy meeting some cute dogs (and maybe even some guinea pigs!) while you study.
Study snacks: highlights include vegan and gluten-free options and all-day breakfast

Salford Museum & Art Gallery
The Salford Museum Art Gallery Café is nestled right between our Peel and Maxwell buildings. It has a beautiful café, with views overlooking Peel Park. Inside you’ll find a large open area with nice lighting and plenty of seating. This makes it a nice spot for solo or group work.
Study snacks: there’s plenty of food options as well as hot drinks and homemade cakes

Penelope’s Deli & Catering
Penelope’s is located right by our MediaCity campus and is a great place to study. It’s also dog friendly, making it another spot to enjoy the company of some cute furry friends.

Grindsmith
Grindsmith is located in MediaCity and is most noticeable for it’s beautiful stained-glass windows. This quiet and unique spot creates the perfect environment for a focused study session.
Study snacks: there’s a range of drinks and food including coffee, pastries and delicious breakfasts.
Facilities include: Wi-Fi
Kargo MKT
Kargo MKT has a dedicated workspace and café that’s only an eight-minute walk from our MediaCity Building. It has a community feel, with lots of different professionals choosing to work here.
Study snacks: from 9:00 you can enjoy food from 20 authentic kitchens including Italian sandwiches, Korean street food, pizza etc.
Facilities include: WiFi, plug sockets, outside seating
