The Salford Foundry
The Salford Foundry is an art gallery project in Salford that celebrates the city’s industrial heritage while creating a contemporary space for creativity, culture, and community engagement.
Inspired by the structure and character of traditional foundries, the building uses strong vertical elements, robust forms, and open public spaces to reinterpret Salford’s manufacturing past. The design gives the gallery a clear identity within the urban landscape while remaining welcoming and accessible to visitors.
The project focuses on flexible exhibition spaces and social areas that encourage interaction, expression, and inclusivity. Natural light plays a key role throughout the building, creating bright and comfortable interiors for both artists and visitors. The layout supports a clear journey through the gallery while maintaining visual connections between different spaces.
