Platinum recognition for Cynthia Agyeman at the Be The Ladder Awards 2025

Salford Business School is proud to celebrate Cynthia Agyeman, Lecturer in Law, who has been awarded the Platinum Award in the Enrichment Ladder category at the 2025 Be The Ladder Awards.

The Be The Ladder Awards recognise individuals and organisations that embody the spirit of acting as “ladders” – inspiring and empowering others to achieve success, often in the face of adversity. The awards, which raise funds for the Be The Ladder Foundation, promote a culture of support and empowerment for young people from low socio-economic backgrounds, providing resources and opportunities that help close educational gaps and inspire social mobility.

Cynthia received her award at a ceremony held on Thursday 16 October at the Underglobe in London. The Enrichment Ladder category celebrates those who go beyond support to bring depth, learning and lasting value – enriching lives so that others can thrive.

Reflecting on her award, Cynthia said: “As an African-born female academic and Solicitor living in the UK, I understand the importance of diversity, visibility, and representation for students in higher education and in the legal profession. I hope this recognition encourages others to keep moving forward and uplifting those around them.”

Liz Larner, Deputy Dean of Salford Business School, said: “We are absolutely delighted for Cynthia. Her dedication to empowering students and championing inclusion is inspiring. This award is a testament to the positive impact she makes every day, by enriching the student experience and ensuring there is support and a sense of belonging for our students.”

Cynthia was recognised alongside other outstanding finalists for her commitment to enriching student experiences, championing diversity, and empowering others through education and mentorship. Following the awards, she has also been invited to become a mentor for Bridging Barriers, a charity supporting young people aged 16-25 from underrepresented backgrounds to achieve career success.

Please join us in congratulating Cynthia on this remarkable achievement, which is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication to social mobility, representation, and the transformative power of education.
