The 21st International Behavioural Finance Conference, held in London, brought together academics and researchers from 82 universities, across 21 countries and five continents, to discuss emerging developments in behavioural finance, financial markets, AI (artificial intelligence), fintech and digital decision-making.
Dr Jean Bessala is a Lecturer in Finance at Salford Business School. His journey into academia was shaped by early exposure to teaching and research, alongside a long-standing interest in finance and industry. Having completed both his master’s and PhD at Salford, Jean’s work reflects the University’s strong focus on practical learning, student development and regional impact.
Meet Dr Maria Paola Rana, an Economics and Finance Lecturer here at Salford Business School. We recently caught up with Maria to discuss her dynamic career path, while delving into her expert knowledge which covers a wide range of specialties, such as the economics of crime, as well as the economic impact and recovery of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Salford Business School’s Dr Zeeshan Syed represented the University at the World Finance & Banking Symposium, where he had the opportunity to engage with thought leaders, gain insights into emerging trends, and present his research on credit ratings and capital structure to a global audience.
Two Salford Business School programmes, MSc International Business and MSc Accounting and Finance, have again been re-accredited by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), based on their quality, excellence and strategic relevance. Both programmes were initially accredited back in 2015, with a five-year re-accreditation confirmed in December 2024.
